American Diabetes Association

The Mizuno Lone Star Classic is extremely excited to continue our partnership with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) as our primary philanthropy this year. The mission of the ADA is 'to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.' The ADA accomplishes their mission by 'funding research to prevent, cure, and manage diabetes, delivering services to hundreds of communities, providing objective and credible information, and giving voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes.'

The Mizuno Lone Star Classic is working with the ADA to accomplish two goals this year: raise awareness about diabetes and raise funds for diabetes research. Read on to find out how YOU can help Lone Star Classic and the ADA!

ADA Featured Athletes

The ADA and Mizuno Lone Star Classic would like to ask participants with diabetes to share their inspiring stories about living with and succeeding despite diabetes. Each story should be limited to 300 words and written from the athletes' perspective. These stories will be printed on banners that will be on display in the Dallas Convention Center throughout the tournament. All stories need to be entered in by March 31st, 2017.

Stories should be emailed to csoliz@austinsportscenter.com.

Team Fundraising

Thank you to all those who participated in the 2016 Team Fundraising contest! We appreciate all those who have helped in raising awareness and funds for the American Diabetes Association! Special thanks to LKN 16 Elite for raising over $500 and to Legacy 14 Elite for raising over $6,000!

Draw Out Diabetes

The Mizuno Lone Star Classic and the American Diabetes Association are partnering together to do their part in raising awareness for diabetes. Now we are giving athletes the chance to do their part! To do this we want to put that pen back in the hands of our athletes so they can create a drawing of what it looks like to ATTACK DIABETES. The winning artwork will be printed on the back of the "Go Red" T-Shirt that will be on sale in the merchandise booth every day of Lone Star.  Let the creativity begin and we look forward to seeing everyone do their part! Entries must be submitted by Feb. 13th, 2017.

Raising Awareness and Funds

LSC will be hosting 'Go Red to STOP Diabetes' for diabetes awareness. We are asking that all attendees wear red on Saturday of each weekend of LSC. Parents and coaches, pull out those red shirts and show your support. Players, wear a red ribbon in your hair or pull on red socks or shoelaces, most of all be creative and show your support.
